Greetings from the Tea Tale Tellers

Welcome to Tea Tales. I decided to start a new blog to chronicle my adventures in exploring the world of teas. In case you weren't aware, tea is the second most popular beverage in the world, outranked only by water. Athough in the United States, it falls into third behind Coffee. At the moment however, Brian and I are living in Japan... where tea is king.

In Japan, tea is everywhere. It is served to all employees at the start of the work day, it is sold in vending machines on most corners, it's served in restaurants, the refrigeration cases at the convenience stores are stocked with countless varieties and most communities have their own local shops to buy tea.

With all the tea surrounding me, it's not too surprising to learn that I've been a bit overwhelmed by the sheer number of varieties. So, with the help of my husband Brian, I've set out on the path to learn a bit more about what's available, how to prepare it, and what it tastes like.
